This has to be the "bestest" Christmas card ever.
Hand painted by my artist friend Linda. This is a keeper.

Really mild day so I revisited some landscape from last month
From out where the prairie meets the bush country.
It really is not that green at all, made most of that up.

Elk Island paintings
For the past two weeks I have been pleinair painting with other artists in the aspen parkland lakes just east of the city. The leaves are at their colorful best and the skies filled with snow geese, canada geese, and sandhill cranes. The light and colors can be the most dramatic and saturated in the year.

Raven Origins 3: The origins of light on the earth and the first humans
This is the final story in this series on the origins of the earth. It is based on the Tlingit mythology that has countless variations. These drawings and writings are based on the mythology first presented by John R. Swanton that were part of an oral tradition that goes back before anyone knows. These visual imaginings are the result of reading these stories and attempting an image of how this world may have appeared.
